Mindfulness, clarity and inner peace are only a Central line tube ride away. On Saturday January 21, the London Buddhist Centre in Bethnal Green will play host to a veritable feast of soul food. Throughout the day, visitors will be able to take part in guided meditation sessions focusing on the four foundations of mindfulness – body, feelings, thoughts and reality. If you prefer to take a more passive role in the journey to enlightenment, the open day offers a range of lectures offering a Buddhist insight into the big issues of money, war, sex and karma. There will be sangha singing, well-being sessions and refreshments. No need to book – just show up, chill out and try to find that inner calm. Lydia Shellien-Walker
