The sporadic London Gastronomy Seminars are a series of talks for then learned or just curious to immerse themselves in a food or drink topic for a couple of hours. Held at Senate House, University of London, they’re a bit like going for lectures by your favourite professors, in topics that interest you. The next one, on January 23, is about chocolate, with three of the UK’s leading chocolatiers throwing in their bean’s worth. The experts are Martin Christy of Seventy%, a cacao bean expert; Paul A Young, chocolatier behind the successful London shops; and Raffaella Baruzzo, formerly of Rococo chocolates, but is now importing fine Italian chocolates to the UK. Tickets for the event cost £10 per head. Guy Dimond
