Jamm fundraising nightThe Triangle in Brixtonis London’s oldest adventure playground. It has provided young people with a safe place to socialise since 1957, but is now under threat from funding cuts. This weekend, Brixton’s Jamm nightclub will be hosting two fundraising events featuring artists including The Freestylers, Basement Jaxx and Alabama 3, whose vocalist Aurora volunteers at the playground. The bands have agreed to perform for free on January 27 and 28, and all the money raised will go to support the Triangle. Jamm’s director Jonathan Allen said: ‘With Jamm’s sister venue, Dirty South, being looted and vandalised in the London riots, both the venue and the band realise it is vital we do all we can to help associations like the Triangle and, as a result, the local young people.’ Laura MacPhee
