The British Animation Awards come to the BFI

Posted at 3:15 pm, February 6, 2012 in Arts & Entertainment

British Animation AwardsThese annual animation awards aren’t taking place until March 15, but you can watch a selection and vote for your favourites at a series of special BFI screenings from Feb 9-17. There’s a fantastic range of styles and techniques on display, from animated adverts and music videos to high quality student shorts. Most of the ones we’ve watched have been inventive and challenging, often surreal, funny, dark or a combination thereof. Big names such as Peter Candeland and Jamie Hewlett (Gorillaz) pop up alongside the animation stars of the future, so now’s your chance to place your bets on a new discovery. Anna Smith
