Feast on food waste at the pop-up Forgotten Feast in Bermondsey

Valentine's for everyone pop up restaurantWhy waste your money on expensive Valentine’s Day presents when you can quite literally spend it on waste? It’s possible to do your bit for the planet, and have an extraordinary feast at the same time. For four days (Feb 10/11/12/14), food charity FareShare have teamed up with eco chef Tom Hunt to host a three-course banquet in Bermondsey made entirely from food that would have otherwise landed in the bin. Not convinced yet? Maybe the thought of roasted squash soup with bacon will make your heart beat faster, or maybe pheasant stew with hare and squirrel could stir your loins. Perhaps chocolate and beetroot truffle cake will seal the deal? Hurry up to secure your ticket (at £40 per head), as the Valentine’s Day slot has already sold out. All profits will go to FareShare, a charity that will invest the revenue back into meals for disadvantaged people.

For info, see Valentine’s for everyone at fareshares depot.
