Need a plan bee for Valentine’s Day?
If you’ve been too much of a busy bee to think about Valentine’s gifts, look to the Southbank Centre’s new, limited edition ‘hive’ collection. Its title may be a bit sick-making, but the Bee My Honey range is actually incredibly smart. The collection of one-off jewellery and glassware makes a feature out of honey sourced from the Royal Festival Hall’s rooftop hives and its residence colony of bees. Designers Tina Tsang and Charlotte Sale have incorporated the sweet honey into gorgeous glass pendants and necklaces as well as hand-blown wine glasses. There are only 50 of each design and a percentage of the proceeds will go toward helping volunteer bee-keepers maintain the hives and keep the buzzing bees happy.
