There’s a good chance you’ve not yet heard of the performers at this year’s Roundhouse Rising festival. Join the club. With performances by up-and-coming artists and workshops for new musicians aged 14-25, the second installment of the Roundhouse’s fast-growing festival (until 18 February) is a tad obsessed with all things new. This year goes international, with performances this Friday from Congo-born troubadour Tres B and Ethiopian ‘desert blues’ outfit the Krar Collective, alongside Incidentally Nordic, a set devoted entirely to Nordic electronica. On Saturday, two panel discussions delve into the business of music and podcasting, before The History of Apple Pie take to the stage with a serving of warm, gooey guitar-pop. Warning : it is all so fresh, it may make you feel old, but it will give you fodder to make you sound ‘down with the kids’. Nick Aveling
