Want to scale a London landmark this weekend? Race to the top of the Gherkin this Sunday March 4 and not only will you be doing your bit for charity, but you will get a sweet view over the city. The Gherkin Challenge is a charity fundraiser for the NSPCC, where participants are challenged to run up all 38 flights of stairs (that’s 1,037 steps or 180m) of the Gherkin building. In addition to the breathtaking (provided you can catch your breath) views at the 40/30 bar, there’ll be a lovely glass of bubbly waiting for you atop the giant pickle. Individual tickets are £20, or £70 for a team of four and participants are also asked to raise sponsorship. Didi Mae Hand
