Pull your socks up, the Bluestockings are heading West
The Bluestockings are to Cabaret what Carol Vorderman was to Countdown - a crumpet for the thinking man. The clever showgirls of women’s burlesque cabaret the Bluestockings make their West End début this March 2 at the Seven Dials Club just in time for International Women’s Day. The sorority which draws its name from an eighteenth-century literary salon are turning the meaning of sexy on it’s head ‘putting the power well and truly back in women’s hands’. Expect a faux-Women’s Institute feel, with Secretary Audacity Chutzpah and Treasurer Tricity Vogue setting the tone, with a top line-up including Abi Collins, Laurie Hagen, Ohh La Lou and Lady Cheek. Book early as this show’s no stocking filler.
