100 Word Plays

As someone who struggles to keep my tweets to a maximum of 140 characters, the prospect of writing an entire play in 100 words is baffling. But that’s exactly the challenge set by the Royal Court Theatre as part of the Young Writers Festival 2012. Writers of all ages and experience are asked to contribute a 100 words play which will be displayed in the Royal Court, on the walls, in the lift, on the toilet doors. In fact, for the duration of the Young Writers Festival, the entire building will be teeming with short plays. Submit your entry on any subject and in any style to the Royal Court anytime before 10 April – the only catch is they can’t be over 100 words.

E-mail your 100 word play to studio@royalcourttheatre.com (with ‘100 word play’ as your subject). Post it into Studio- 100 Words, Royal Court Theatre, Sloane Square, SW1W 8AS. Or for that personal touch, hand it in at ‘100 Word drop boxes’ located in the Café Bar and Box Office at the Royal Court Theatre. See 100wordplays.com for details.
