‘The new tablet looks almost identical to last year’s, though it’s fractionally heavier and a hair thicker. But the real difference is the screen – the new one has a display with four times higher resolution which has to be seen to be believed. It’s great for reading text, for instance, which is pin-sharp and video looks amazing. A more powerful processor means games can be faster, with richer graphics. And the new apps like iPhoto mean the new iPad, (not the iPad 3, you’ll note) is a great creativity tool, too. Prices start from £399 and it’s out on Friday March 16.’
