Future Cinema's Bugsy Malone flash mob

Future Cinema held an impromptu flash mob today in Soho square to celebrate the return of Bugsy Malone to the Troxy this week. Wearing oversized suits and tilted trilbies, the performers ran amok, terrorising picnickers and whipping Soho Square into a frenzy. Not exactly a universal crowd pleaser, but it wasn’t long until they were on the move. Chanting ‘down, down, down and out’ as they marched, Bugsy’s cohort stomped up Greek Street, then back down Frith Street past surprised diners and bemused pedestrians. Audience participation wasn’t restricted to those who’d joined in voluntarily, on the contrary random passersby were stopped as the performers demanded to know where Bugsy was. Generally odd, but all in all a different way to while away a lunch break on a sunny day. Didi Mae Hand
