When is a trailer not a trailer? When it’s a teaser for a trailer, that’s when

A 23 second teaser for the new trailer of Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’ has arrived. A teaser for a trailer, you ask, when did that become a thing? Well, it seems that anything goes when it comes to Ridley Scott’s return to sci-fi (this is the man who gave us ‘Alien’ and ‘Blade Runner’). Scott himself will be unveiling the full trailer in all its glory on Saturday at the WonderCon comic convention in California before it’s released online. As for the film, it’s not out until June 1. Scott and his team have backtracked on earlier reports that it’s an ‘Alien’ prequel, although it is, they’re saying, ‘set in the same universe’. Noomi Rapace (we’re hoping for Ripley levels of grit), Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, and Charlize Theron star as the crew of a spaceship, Prometheus, in the year 2085. But seriously, a trailer of trailer? Is anyone bothered? The answer is probably yes… close to 8 million people have already watched the film’s first trailer, released last December, on YouTube.
