Don’t leave me dancing all by myself at the Tate
What happens if a dance performance doesn’t have a live audience? We’re going to find out tonight when the first of the BMW Tate Live performances kicks off at 8pm when Jérôme Bel launching this new series of online streamed shows. Yes, these are live performances with no actual audience followed by an online Q&A, all set in a designated performance room in the Tate. Will this open up dance and art to the masses by streaming it live into their homes or will the experience be to far removed to really connect with the audience? The jury is still out, but with upcoming months featuring Pablo Bronstein, Harrell Fletcher, Joan Jonas and Emily Roysdon, it is definitely worth watching to find out. Sonya Barber
