Nothing brings back the innocence of childish pleasures like kite flying. We don’t care how cool you are, it’s impossible not to squeal in delight when your kite finally takes to the sky. Streatham Common’s annual Kite Day is back this Sunday (April 1, 11am-5 pm) and will turn adults into big kids humming the tune of ‘ let’s go fly a kite’. Even if you don’t own a flyaway friend, the Highwaymen will be selling kites and kite-based paraphernalia so beginners can have a dabble. For those of you who prefer to have their feet firmly on the ground, there’s a selection of food stalls, as well as face painting and a bouncy castle. Fingers crossed for wind.
