London Eye to rotate five times faster during the Olympics
As we keep hearing, London will be packed to the rafters with people flocking to the city this July for the Olympics. Lots of precautions are being put in place to keep the city running smoothly, such as LOCOG encouraging Londoners to take alternative transport routes to ease commute congestion. To ensure everyone who visits gets to make the most out of the city, the London Eye will be sped up to five times the normal speed allowing many more people to see the capital from up high. Better take in the view quickly though as each rotation will take a mere 6 minutes, transforming the London attraction in to more of a fast-paced ferris wheel than a leisurely sightseeing platform.
