While some sectors of the city will be preparing to praise the Lord this Sunday, others will be bowing down before a far darker God, with three all-nighters screening the best in classic horror. First up on Friday April 6, the Prince Charles hosts an all-night screening of all four ‘Alien’ movies (which they’re rather annoyingly referring to as a ‘quadrilogy’): it’s the ideal way to get ready for Ridley Scott’s upcoming prequel, ‘Prometheus’. Then on Saturday it gets tricky: do you attend a late-night triple bill of George Romero’s amazing ‘Night of the Living Dead’ trilogy at the Ritzy, plus Q&A with the legendary Kim Newman? Or do you head down to the Roxy for FilmBar 70’s epic ‘Night of the Black Mass’, with back-to-back screenings of 5 relatively little-known shockers including ‘Demons’, ‘Evilspeak’ and the original ‘The Black Cat’? We’d suggest this: horror newbies, check out the Romero films, because they’re incredible. Nerds, go for the Roxy: those FilmBar boys sure know their stuff. Hail Satan!
