Get onboard the milk float bandwagon

Posted at 10:00 am, April 12, 2012 in Fun London, Secret London

Milk FloatRumours are afoot that the humble milk float is staging a triumphant return to the streets of London…. but not as we know them. We’ve noticed a trend for these classic old vehicles being brought out of retirement and transformed by London’s creatives, dodging the congestion charge and popping up in rather unusual places. Events collective ‘The Old Milk Float‘ has been at the forefront of much milky activity, throwing a ‘kid’s rave’ onboard theirs for ‘Trees For Cities‘ last week, and they’ll be turning up at Lovebox and Field Day festivals this year. Maisy the Milkfloat from Dalston has also been spotted onstage at the venerable Old Vic, in between her regular job delivering fresh veg for eco-group Growing Communities. There is no stopping these speedy (ahem) vehicles. Let’s see if anyone can get as rock’n'roll with them as legendary ‘float fan’ Keith Moon.
