Wet your whistle at the Whisky Lounge Fest, starting tomorrow

Posted at 6:15 pm, April 19, 2012 in Food & Drink

Whisky Lounge festWhisky lovers, listen up – your favourite spirit is calling. For two days on April 20/21, the Whisky Lounge Fest is pouring drams from 40 international distilleries, to showcase the spirit’s diversity. Expect whiskies from Scotland, Japan, India and even London, plus whiskies from the United States and Ireland. Don’t know the difference between a single malt and a blend, or between a phenol and a still? Then book yourself into the beginners’ guide to whisky workshop (£7.50, 6pm Fri). Whisky connoisseurs will be better off in the whisky blending class, where they’ll get to create their own whisky blend (£15, 6pm Fri). Food isn’t forgotten either: there will be chocolate and whisky pairings, as well as whisky and other food matchings. It may not be a bargain at £40 a ticket, but if you’re into a tipple, this event is whisky galore. Saturday’s tickets have already sold out, so be quick to secure your Friday night pass.
