As Olympic fever spreads across the capital, fashion photographer Rankin is getting a piece of the sporting action with a new photography exhibition, Inspired by Sport, opening May 2 at the Museum of London. The co-founder of Dazed & Confused, who has previously snapped portraits of everyone from supermodels to royalty, has captured Olympic athletes in futuristic motion, including Denise Lewis launching the shot-put, Colin Jackson hiking over a hurdle and heptathlon winner Louise Hazel leaping the long jump. His slick shots sit alongside images by international photographers of young people across the globe whose lives have been enriched by sport. These are pretty inspiring pics, which may even make you want to dig out your own trainers for a jog around your local park. Maybe. Entry is free but race there now – it only runs until May 13.
