Give three piece a chance: Chaps stage civil row on Savile Row

Posted at 4:15 pm, May 7, 2012 in News, Shopping & Style

Gentlemen – and ladies – of the world unite! And so they did, as around 30 protestors dressed in trilbies, blazers, boaters and pill box hats turned up last week to protest at Savile Row in Piccadilly. Why were they there? Chaps magazine, the publication whose mission is to protect that endangered species, the English gentlemen, had mobilised its readers to protest at the planned opening of a new Abercrombie and Fitch store on 3 Savile Row. The campaigners are concerned that A&F’s style will open the flood gates for other high street brands on this street of traditional bespoke tailoring and spoil the unique atmosphere of the street. In their own words: Give three-piece a chance!
