The Horrors

Our friends over at LondOntheInside like finding cool stuff to do as much we do. Get ahead of the game and find out what London happenings they are looking forward to this month…

1. Seeing the Horrors at Brixton Academy, May 25
‘With The Horrors surpassing greatness once again in their outstanding third album ‘Skying’, there is not a show within a 200 mile radius we would not walk to in order to see the hypnotic and psychedelic whirlwind they are able to create. Support band TOY battle it out for the same territory and although relatively new, they are already one of our favourite bands.’

2. Lou Gardiner at Project Space at COLLECT, The Saatchi Gallery, May 11-14
‘We recently did one of Lou Gardiner’s stitching courses at the Bedruthan Steps Hotel and now we’re addicted – well Kirsty Allsop did call it the crack cocaine of the craft world. Lou produces beautiful art on canvas using a sewing machine like other artists would use a pencil. Head along to COLLECT and check out five pieces of her work which are being shown alongside other crafty art pieces.’

3. Bukhara pop up restaurant, Sheraton Park Tower, from May 17
‘Indian food fans will be heading in their droves to the Sheraton Park Tower this month where the critically-acclaimed BUKHARA restaurant will be setting up kitchen for just two weeks. The restaurant is usually found in the ITC Maurya hotel in New Delhi and serves up spicy delights such as the Sikandari Raan (marinated leg of lamb) and Murgh Malai Kebab (creamy chicken kebab) – we’re sold!’

4. Cherry Cola Club, The Purple Turtle, Camden, weekly from May 12
‘Our favourite rock and roll night has not only moved venues it has now gone weekly – bonus! The Cherry Cola Club will now take place at the Purple Turtle in Camden every Saturday night and as usual you’ll find us on getting down and dirty on the dance floor. The DJ’s play cracking tunes from old school classics to modern day hits and there will also be a pre-club show featuring some of London’s best bands.’

5. Citroen Ds5 Pop-up restaurant, Shoreditch, May 16- 20
‘This month there are more pop-up restaurants popping up than ever before which means they need to offer something a little more original that just being open for a limited time. The latest one we’ve been obsessing over is the ‘Delicious by DS5′ which has been created by Citroen with the help of MasterChef winner Tim Anderson. The restaurant will be popping up in Shoreditch, tickets are via a Facebook lottery system and it only costs £5 for five courses. Oh yeah and they have smoking jelly!’
