They grasp mascara wands in place of javelins- and the nearest thing they face to a hurdle is a stubborn bikini line. But the London College of Beauty Therapy (LCBT) has decided to take on its own Olympic challenge with an attempt to break the world record for number of manicures carried out in eight hours. Students will be giving a mini-manicure to 30,000 hands on Thursday May 10. As well as smashing a world record, the event will be raising funds for Rays of Sunshine (a wish granting charity for young people with serious illnesses) and the Eve Appeal (fight against gynecological cancers).
