‘Chariots of Fire’ looks set to run and run

Chariots of Fire

It may sound cheesy on paper – it may even be a little cheesy in reality – but the Hampstead Theatre and rising playwright Mike Bartlett have pulled off the truly Olympian feat of adapting ‘80s Britflick ‘Chariots of Fire’ into a euphoric stage spectacular. Amidst the West End-bound production’s enormous cast, James McArdle is compelling as troubled Jewish 100m runner Harold Abrahams, while that Vangelis score is gloriously present and correct.

Read all about it at the Chariots of Fire Review. It will run at the Hampstead Theatre until Jun 16; then the Gieldgud Theatre Jun 22-Nov 10.
