It’s not often that we here at Time Out recommend a conference as a thrilling day out but we’re willing to change our tune when the speakers of said conference include luminaries like Anna Rafferty, MD at Penguin Digital; Dana Al-Salem, the founder of Fanshake; and Nange Magro, a pioneer of mind-controlled fashion (we don’t know what that is either, but we like how it sounds). Forget name tags and endless biscuit breaks – the Scamp 2012 conference at Google Campus in Shoreditch promises to get your creative juices gushing. Billed as a ‘playground where inspiration and actions collide’, Scamp will kick off at 9am on Thursday June 14 with a day of interactive talks, activities and even experiments. Don’t be surprised when you realise most of these voices are female – after all, the conference is sponsored by She Says, a global network for pioneering women. At £120, we agree tickets aren’t cheap but consider it an investment should the conference plant that start-up seed in your brainbox. And if that’s not incentive enough, then the celebratory rooftop BBQ is sure to round off your day in style. Lisa Paul
