No such thing as a free lunch? Think again

Hold the phones – that age old saying is being put to the test as we hear 10,000 lucky Londoners will be treated to a free lunch today. What’s the catch I hear you cry (there’s always a catch)? Well first off you have to be at one of the designated locations (including Bank, Liverpool Street, Charing Cross, Waterloo, Bond Street, Oxford Circus, Tottenham Court road, Leicester Square, Canary Wharf, Victoria and other major stations), then you have to find one of the 140 Barclaycard ‘Lunch On Us’ team, who we hear will be wearing white jumpers. Next you need to want to eat something from WH Smith, EAT, Crussh, Subway or Boots. However, if all this sounds manageable, a free lunch could be yours! In fact, you could even get your brunch or tea for free as they will be out and about from 8.30am-3pm. All this generosity is in aid of Barclaycard’s new PayTag scheme, which allows you to terrifyingly easily spend money at the above shops as well as Tesco Metro, The Co-Operative and Waitrose. To celebrate, they also got our fave food artist Carl Warner to create the edible London masterpiece above. Shame that isn’t what you’ll get in your lunchbox. We have always wanted to take a bite out of the Gherkin.
