Have yourself a Jubilee street party, the Wilton Way

Wilton Way Jubilee Street Party

Following the roaring success of its Royal Wedding Street Party, Wilton Way will once again be stringing up the Union Jacks in the name of the Diamond Jubilee this Sunday June 3. The theme is an all encompassing 1952-2012 so pick your favourite era from Liz’s reign and run with it. The day’s festivities are being put together by Wilton Way Café in collaboration with London Fields Radio, and it promises to be a truly communal affair. Taking BYO to a new level, residents will be pitching in with their tables, chairs and, of course, food to line the streets of this Hackney enclave. Local mainstays like the Hackney Empire will be opening up their doors to the festivities, and Toppers of Hackney will be offering cocktails and vintage hairdos. The café is also running a raffle, so get yourself down there to be in with the chance of winning great prizes, including (ahem) a year’s subscription to Time Out. Ellie Clayton
