Inspired by a visit to the Serengeti where she developed life-threatening peritonitis and gnarly gangrene, ‘Endless Plains’ is artist Polly Morgan’s latest installation, opening at All Visual Arts on June 8. Unlike traditional statuesque taxidermy, Polly places her work in unlikely surroundings, challenging assumptions about the animals – and before you kick off, all of which died naturally or accidentally. This is a portrait of the savagery and beauty of nature questioning the ideas of life and death and exploring the relationship between predator, prey and parasite: a theme which makes perfect sense considering her recent near-death experiences.
