Sketching the City: transform the capital into a work of art
Dust off that easel and pick up your pencil because Foyles wants you to be part of the capital celebrations. If you think you have an eye for detail and an ounce of artistic flair, then pick your favourite spot in the city, whip out your sketch book and take part in Foyles’ ‘Sketching the City’ project, for your chance to be exhibited in The Gallery, Charing Cross Road from July 27 to August 12. Choose your medium (drawings, paintings, collages and even poetry will be accepted), drop it in at one of the designated drop-off points on the ground floor of Foyles by August 9 and the best examples will be framed for all to see. If you aren’t feeling too arty, there’s plenty more going on at Foyles, Charing Cross Road as part of a series of sketching, illustration and design-based events and exhibitions over the summer.
