Port of call: USB docks at the ready for Unorthodoxii arts show

Well this may well be a first. Gallery walls and firewalls will be synonymous on the streets of Kingston all in the name of art from June 14-29. A group of graduating digital arts students have turned their degree show truly digital by ‘installing’ their work on USB memory sticks and embedding them in cement around Kingston. The sticks can be found in walls, kerbstones, shopping areas and parks and anyone with a laptop can plug in and have a look. Not only are the public encouraged to view the work but also add to it. The memory sticks aren’t locked so participants can copy and add to the work on them with the hope that the project will grow overtime. We don’t want to rain on their parade but we would suggest watching out for moist USBs.
