Comic value: the first ever East London Comics and Arts Festival

Posted at 1:15 pm, June 16, 2012 in Arts & Entertainment
Nobrow 7 will be launched at ELCAF 2012

The time has finally come for comic book art to step into the limelight. Hot on the heels of last month’s Bandes Dessinées & Comics Passion festival comes the first ever East London Comics and Arts Festival (ELCAF) – and it promises to make comics even cooler. With celebrities like Jonathan Ross proudly counting themselves as fans – good old Wossy is so comic mad, he even pens his own. For a slice of the action, head down to Village Underground in Shoreditch on June 17 for a creative day of all things graphic – from browsing an international selection of collectable comics, to getting stuck in with live illustration workshops and talks from comic book creators such as Simone Lia and BLEXBOLEX. Best of all, entry is free – and with an evening gig lined up including some hot Shoreditch bands – these comic book kids know how to throw a party. Lisa Paul
