Imogen Heap's listening chair
A Room for London  – that little boat perched on top of the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall – is more than just the city’s most private hotel. It’s been live broadcasting ‘bedroom gigs’ for the likes of Andrew Bird and Amadou & Mariam all year, and this week it’s the turn of Imogen Heap. Her performance at 7pm on Friday June 22 will be streamed live on the A Room for London website, and on a screen in the Royal Festival Hall’s Clore Ballroom. She has been working on a series of ‘Heapsongs’, which are composed using a whole range of innovative methods, and the most recent (which was crowd-sourced last weekend by the public telling stories inspired by the river in a ‘listening chair’ in the Royal Festival Hall’s foyer) will debut during the gig.
