Summer is when the capital’s parks come into their own, so there’s no better time to slap on the suncream and head outside. And wouldn’t you know, apparently it’s been National Picnic Week (until June 24), even more of an excuse to invade our cities greenery. But before you go out buying a new whicker basket or the latest tupperware, have a look out the window. It’s been quite rainy these past few weeks so it would be wise to come up with a plan b. Instead of risking a wet bottom, head to one of our green, open spaces that now boast charming eateries where you can enjoy the scenery over a light bite. There are plenty to choose from and you’re still technically celebrating Picnic Week, right? Carly-Ann Clements
