This summer (June 25-July 7), Can-ary Wharf will be hosting the first ever Canstruction event where world-leading architects and designers create giant uncanny sculptures from 40,000 tins of food. Internationally acclaimed firms will be working against the clock as part of a design competition to create the colossal can sculptures to adorn Canary Wharf shopping centre. Previous entries include a tin mermaid, tutan-can-man and a giant cup of cans, so keep your eyes peeled for some particularly candid installations. Mindful of their moral paw print, all the cans will be collected and redistributed by the food charity FareShare to communities throughout the capital. So clear your schedule, and can-cel all your plans because you don’t want to miss this. Didi Mae Hand
