TV shows such as ‘The X Factor’, ‘The Voice’ and ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ have proved (in most cases) that there is a lot of hidden talent that needs to be discovered. The same can be said in the art world and thanks to the Whitechapel Gallery, some brand new talent is being introduced to London. Every year, the Whitechapel Gallery hosts an open-submission exhibition where 35 new and established London-based artists are selected by a panel of international artists, curators and critics and displayed in the gallery. The London Open includes everything from performances and sculpture to film – even used coffee cups are on the agenda. With such a celebration of London creativity, it had to be our pick of this week’s Time Out Hot List. Carly-Ann Clements
