Have you been bamboo-zled by London’s new panda population?
If you were passing through Trafalgar Square yesterday, you may well have spotted a black and white sea of 108 pandas doing a slightly soggy flashmob tai chi. No, these monochrome jokers weren’t doing a sun dance, they were out in full force for Panda Awareness Week, attempting to raise awareness of these seriously endangered species and breeding centres like the Chengdu Panda Base in China. The panda fun doesn’t stop there: they also went wild on the tube, will be getting cuddly on the south bank today and are heading over to St Paul’s Cathedral later.
