Crossrail exhibitionYes yes we know London is full of hidden treasures but when was the last time that you dug up a jewel digging around in your garden? Well as Crossrail seem to be digging up the whole of central London, it is lucky that they have an excavation team working with them to identify the rare beauties buried under foot like this 55 million year old blingtastic amber above (with added artificial sparkles). To celebrate the mid-way point of the Crossrail archaeology programme, the Music Room at Grays Antiques will be hosting a one day exhibition today (July 7, 10am-5pm) showing the valuable discoveries made so far. As well as viewing some priceless items (there’s a pretty gnarly looking skeleton), they’ll be talks and you can learn how to analyse and determine the age of certain pieces – just incase you should strike lucky in your own backyard.
