Snap, crackle and Pop! at the Fashion and Textile Museum

Posted at 3:15 pm, July 7, 2012 in Arts & Entertainment, Shopping & Style

Pop! at the Fashion and Textiles MuseumExcluding the odd mini skirt, calf length boot or leg warmer, fashion has evolved dramatically over the last sixty years. Along with enormous political and social changes in the 50s and 60s, music, art and the notion of celebrity changed too. ‘Pop! Design, Culture, Fashion’ at the Fashion and Textile Museum (until October 27)will be going back to where it all began to explore how these changes influenced fashion over 20 years showing classics including the poodle skirt, torn leather from the Punk era, items from Elton John’s personal wardrobe, original Vievienne Westwood pieces and more.  If nothing else, probably worth going down just to point and laugh at Donovan’s purple flares.
