‘Portman Village’, which everyone apart from estate agents refers to as ‘that bit of Marylebone at the Marble Arch end’, has seen a rash of good, ambitious places to eat and drink recently – a direct result of the landlord, The Portman Estate, actively encouraging them in. The lastest is Donostia, a tapas bar in the Barrafina mould, only this time loosely themed on the food and drink of San Sebastián in northern Spain’s Basque country on the Bay of Biscay. ‘Donostia’ is the Basque name for San Sebastián, but does this London tapas bar live up to the name?
