Question: What do you do when you have a small, hugely popular restaurant that can’t possibly cope with demand? Answer: go for broke and open a couple more. Yes folks, Burger and Lobster is opening not one, but two more branches over the course of 2012. The second branch is due to open on July 16, at 36 Dean Street in Soho. Once again, the menu is simple: burger, lobster (or lobster roll), with chips and salad, for £20. Or you can shell out (geddit?) £150 for a 10lb lobster to share. What we’re hoping it won’t have in common with the original Mayfair outpost are the annoyingly long queues (though they will be taking a few bookings, apparently). As for the third branch, this will be on Clerkenwell’s St John Street (at number 38, on the old Bistro du Vin site), and isn’t due until later this year. The men with hard hats are already in so it’s looking good.
