Relax-a-Taxi at the London Eye

We’ve all accidentally fallen asleep in the back of a taxi but would you do it by choice? To fight the predicted fall in black cab earnings during the Olympics, London cabbie, David Weekes, has transformed his ‘Hackney Carriage’ into a ‘Relax-a Taxi’ – a fully furbished sleeping space with memory foam mattress, mini fridge, reading lamp and teddy bear.  A night in the novel bed and no breakfast will cost £50 with the added bonus that you can camp out anywhere in London. With a view of your choice, an optional iPad and a radio to drown out the city din, it sounds almost perfect unless, of course, you have a call of nature in the middle of the night… Carly-Ann Clements

For info or to book a night in the ‘Relax-a-Taxi’, see wimdu.com.
