Excellent as it was, Lewis Carroll’s iconic children’s book ‘Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland’ was missing one key element: bikes. The Victorians had them – so why didn’t the luddite Carroll want to write about them, eh? One hundred and seventeen years later, Exquisite Folly Theatre are belatedly redressing the balance with a new theatrical adaptation of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ in which you, the audience, cycle after Alice through the nooks and crannies of Kensington and Chelsea. Performed by Exquisite Folly Theatre, this ‘Alice in Wonderland’ (July 18-22) forms part of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s InTransit festival of perambulatory theatre, which takes place all this month throughout the borough.
