Spend a night at Hotel Medea

Posted at 4:00 pm, July 17, 2012 in Arts & Entertainment

HOTEL MEDEAThe last time I stayed up all night with the vengeful Medea, I was at uni, stuck in the library, punishing myself for leaving my essay to the last minute. This time, however, exploring the mythical tragedy until dawn sounds like a lot more fun. Persis-Jade Maravala & Zecora Ura are bringing their epic six hour overnight show ‘Hotel Medea’ back to London for four weeks this summer and this time, they promise a more mature and eerie experience. The interactive promenade will make audience members become both spectators and participants in an all-encompassing assault on the senses.

If you’re slightly intimidated, don’t be. The cast and creators are no fools and understand that you aren’t a pro, so they’ve designed a pre-show workshop to kick things off and prep you for some dancing, hiding and naked body washing! The show is then split into three sections, with each moment designed to combat or comfort your natural fatigue so stay sober, take a cat nap and wear some comfortable clothes. Don’t think you can handle a six hour show? Don’t worry, for the weaker amongst us, every Thursday the group will just be performing part one to give you a taste of the action. Carly-Ann Clements
