London Booster at Czech House, David Cerny

It seems that everyone’s got Olympic fever (or is that just sunstroke?!). Even London’s buses are getting in on the sporting action. Yesterday, Czech sculptor David Cerny unveiled his first major public commission in London for over a decade – a 1957 London bus with huge mechanical arms that allow it to do press-ups. The hench body building bus known as ‘London Booster’ can be found outside the Business Design Centre in Islington which will be transformed into Czech House for the duration of the games. The surreal hunk of metal will be flexing its muscles until August 12. Carly-Ann Clements
