The big day is finally here and Danny Boyle’s secret will be let out of the bag for all to see in a matter of hours. We’ve all been speculating about what he has in store so in the spirit of anticipation, expectation and imagination, we asked some London bloggers what they would do if they had two minute slot during the Opening ceremony…

Miss Immy’s London
‘Get all the sportsmen involved to do a giant Hokey Cokey in the Olympic Stadium. “You put your left leg in, your left leg out. In, out, in, out, shake it all about…” It doesn’t get much more British than that!’

Henry: ‘If Danny Boyle asked me personally to cover for two minutes between acts, I would probably panic and pull out my pasta-naming party trick.’
Matt: ‘A virtuoso ukulele interlude.’

Tired of London
‘I understand there is going to be music and I’m trying to think of genuine east London songs… Perhaps Billy Bragg could play “A13 Trunk Road To The Sea”? Either that or I’d let Jonathan Meades do a two minute monologue on the cult of regeneration.’

Bollards of London
‘I would give a two minute talk on the history/heritage of our country with a link to cannons-bollards & end with a quick plug of Bollards of London.’

‘Probably our best Mick Jagger dance to a medley of Rolling Stones tracks…’
