aMAZEballs: help build a bookish labyrinth

aMAZEme at London's Southbank

Though David Bowie is the ultimate Labyrinthian fantasy for most of us, a maze made out of books surely comes a close second. From July 31, 250,000 books will make up a 2.5 metre high maze recreating Jorges Louis Borges fingerprint on the South Bank. The bibliophile’s wet dream was created by Brazillian artists Marcus Saboya and Gualter Pupo, combining language, performance and multimedia. However, and sorry to burst anyone’s bubble, but aMAZEme wasn’t built in a day. It needs your help. They are looking for volunteers from July 26-30 to help build the 300 metre structure and the process will be captured for a stop motion animation. For all you eco-friendly worriers (see what we did there), the books won’t be wasted; they have all been donated and will be heading to Oxfam after the exhibition. Carly-Ann Clements

To volunteer, email pdantas92@gmail.com and for more info on the exhibition, see london2012.com.
