Royal Academy Summer Exhibition

With all eyes on the Games, many people will forget that there’s life outside of sports. But just in case you’re lacking inspiration, our friendly London bloggers have told us what fun cultural plans they have during this Olympics…

Miss Immy’s London
‘I’ve got a few supper clubs lined up. Plus a bit of festival action at Leopallooza. And perhaps I’ll host an Olympic-inspired BBQ in the garden serving Discus Burgers and Olympic Onion Rings. I could even practise wine racing.’

Henry: ’Yes! I’m going to Cornwall to see As You Like It at the stunning Minack Theatre.’
Matt: ’I absolutely cannot wait to bounce around on the inflatable Stonehenge that’s touring London. I’ll also be going to see Art Drive! in the Great Eastern Street Car Park.’

Tired of London
‘My family will be in town and I’ll be spending time with them, but I’m also working and the thing only lasts for 17 days.’

Bollards of London
‘I’ll be hoping to get some great pictures of ‘Olympic’ bollards from the many people visiting the park/games (I have one already)!’

LondOntheInside
‘We went to Annex East this week to Jimmy Garcia’s supper club, that was the bomb and only 100 metres from the Olympic site. We’re also going along to the new Crate Brewery in Hackney Wick for pizza and beer and we’ll be making the most of all the East London food pop-ups and the free screen in Haggerston Park for watching the games on.’

Shit London
‘Does sitting on the sofa in my pants watching DVDs count? If not, no. Actually, I haven’t been to Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (above) yet this year so I’ll probably go there at some point.’

Better Never than Late
‘I’m performing spoken word poetry at a Bah Mitzvah in Golders Green.’
