Book Block, Lower Marsh

With the digital age slowly sweeping books under the carpet and replacing them with overly clever little rectangles of sorcery (which many call Kindles), it’s not surprising some of us need an excuse to keep our collection of dust-gatherers on the shelf. Step in Daniel Speight and his latest project ‘Book Block’. Inspired by London’s street design and historic geography, Speight has recreated some of our most beautiful and colourful locations in these striking screen-printed fore edge paintings. With Speight happily taking on bespoke commisions, these could be a perfect gift for someone’s first (or second) anniversary presentCarly-Ann Clements

You can view Daniel’s work in the flesh at Cafe del Marsh until Sept 1, and for info on the project, see thesoftcity.co.uk.
