Mind control: Mr Brainwash paints the town
Pop culture troll or artistic genius? I don’t think we’ll ever know the truth behind Banksy’s protégé (of sorts) Mr Brainwash. All we know for certain is that after his conveyor belt-style work was made famous in the 2010 documentary he’s taken the world by storm. The prolific street artist has now invaded and transformed New Oxford Street’s The Sorting Office to make a gigantic five floor gallery with large-scale installations, murals and stencils. Keeping in mind that he is the brain behind Madonna’s ‘Celebration’ album cover, you should expect a sea of famous images that immortalize popular culture. The show is open from 1pm everyday and the first 250 people through the door get a limited edition Mr Brainwash spray can, with everyone else getting signed posters and postcards. Mr Brainwash definitely exited through the gift shop and entered the Time Out Hot List, as he’s our top pick this week. Carly-Ann Clements
