The You Me Bum Bum Train needs you…

You Me Bum Bum Train, Kate Bond and Morgan Lloyd © Hugo GlendinningLast week I took a ride on the incredibly life-affirming You Me Bum Bum Train which has pulled up into town again as part of Create festival until September 19. Not familiar with YMBBT? It’s an interactive theatrical extravaganza where you get propelled into the centre of a series of universes. In every scene you get the chance to play out different fantasies, battle through your fears, live your dreams, learn something about yourself and re-emerge triumphant, if a tad disorientated. Ever wondered what it would feel like to rob a bank, work in a kebab shop, star in a chat show or coach an American football team? YMBBT is your chance. All that said, I hate to break it to you but this run is all sold out. However, you can still be involved. YMBBT relies on hundreds of volunteers to star in each of the scenes and give the passengers a realistic, memorable experience. I volunteered last time and it was almost as fun as taking part in the ride itself: being behind the scenes and seeing people’s unique reactions is a very special thing. Sonya Barber
